Effective presentations do not just happen; they require preparation and practice.  This one day facilitated workshop covers the key elements that contribute to effective presentations:

• Audience – Who you are presenting to
• Approach – What your intent is
• Content – What you have to say
• Communication – How you say it
• Distractions and Idiosyncrasies – How you interfere with what you say
• Visuals – How you show it
• Questions – How you respond to your audience

The elements covered in this workshop apply to any setting where a successful presentation must be made, formal or informal, school, business or community, and to small or large audiences.  Participants from beginner to experienced will be able to take away key tips to develop and add to their skill set.  Handouts from the workshop include key workshop topics, a checklist for developing effective presentations, and the text of the workshop on a self-study mini-CD: Guide to Effective Presentations.

The workshop includes short impromptu participant presentations and peer critiques as well as a section on how to use, and misuse, PowerPoint in constructing presentations.
