Training is a business: the only successful programs are those that consistently demonstrate results in the workplace.  To measure training in terms of performance, impact on key business parameters, or return on investment, it must first transfer to the work environment.

Dr. Reed has over 30 years of experience working for top Fortune corporations in management and professional positions. His extensive business knowledge and experience includes training and education, financial management, organizational analysis and design, project management, and computer systems development. He has married his business experience with a PhD in Training and Development, as well as advanced degrees in business management and teaching. His doctoral research and later studies in industry training systems dealt with evaluating learning transfer to the workplace.

John has also served extensively in executive positions in School-to-Career, Workforce Investment, and on National Science Foundation grants to connect training and education with business and industry.  He has served as a principle in state, regional, national and international organizations toward this end.  He is author of a chapter in the book Implementing Evaluation Systems and Processes, edited by Jack Phillips, and has presented at numerous regional and national conferences and workshops on the subject.
