Alliances are active partnerships that develop skills in content, critical thinking, problem solving, communications and team building using relevant real world business models in education for employee, student and community development.

Dr. Reed has had considerable experience developing and speaking on business-education alliances.  He is a past multi-term chair of a regional School-to-Career partnership and past chair of the planning committee for a Workforce Investment Board.  He was a principle in developing an award-winning national program for a 2-year degree in Process Technology, establishing a statewide degree program and governing board for Louisiana.  He later served as chair of the International Process Technology Alliance between industry, education and government.

John has also been a member of the US-European Network of industry and education dealing with apprentice training, and he has been a member of executive committees for National Science Foundation grants supporting business-education alliances.  He has worked in alliance building with the American Chemical Society as well as Louisiana and Texas educational institutions to better align their programs with business and industry.
